Biden slams Musk for hypocrisy: He was an illegal worker when he came to the U.S.

On Saturday, U.S. President Biden publicly criticized Tesla CEO Elon Musk, calling him hypocritical on immigration. Biden pointed out that Musk started his long career in the United States as an “illegal worker” and eventually became the world’s richest man. Biden made the remarks at a Democratic campaign event in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Saturday, citing a report in The Washington Post. The report said that Musk, who was born in South Africa, lived in the United States illegally at the beginning of his business. Musk has now become a major donor to the Republican Party and an agent for Trump’s campaign. Biden called Musk Trump’s new wealthy “ally.” “The richest man in the world came to the United States as an illegal worker,” Biden said. “He was supposed to come here on a student visa to go to school, but he didn’t go to school. He broke the law, but now he’s talking about ‘illegal immigrants flocking to us.'” He then criticized Trump and Republicans for failing to sign legislation to address the “border problem.” “There are fewer people crossing the border illegally now than at any time in Trump’s third year as president of the United States,” Biden said. As of press time, the Trump campaign has not commented.
