High-level U.S.-Ukraine delegations begin talks in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on March 11

The high-level delegations from the United States and Ukraine began talks in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on March 11. Yermak, director of the Ukrainian presidential office, who attended the talks, said that the meeting with the US team was very constructive from the beginning and that Ukraine is working hard to achieve a just and lasting peace. In addition to Yermak, the Ukrainian representatives also included Foreign Minister Serbiga and Defense Minister Umerov. The US representatives who attended the talks included US Secretary of State Rubio, US President’s National Security Advisor Waltz and US Middle East Envoy Witkoff. The two sides will discuss “the framework for the development of a peace agreement and a preliminary ceasefire” and the US-Ukraine mineral agreement. Earlier, Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed met with Ukrainian President Zelensky and US Secretary of State Rubio respectively. Mohammed stressed that Saudi Arabia supports all efforts aimed at resolving the crisis and working to achieve peace.
