New York police injuries hit record high
It was reported on February 18 that data from the New York Police Department showed that more than 5,000 police officers in the police department were injured on the job in 2023, a number that reached a record high.
Data show that in the last quarter of 2023, a total of 1,286 New York Police Department police officers were injured on the job, and the number of injuries throughout the year was as high as 5,363, an increase of 13% from 4,737 the previous year. Experts told the US media that factors such as radical protests, an influx of immigrants engaged in criminal activities, and prosecutors’ weakness towards crime have all contributed to this dangerous and disturbing trend.
